Powis Parker is the leading and authorized provider of Fastback binding machines, and recently it launched a brand-new binding strip known as Image Strip that is used for “Image binding” – a new binding technique specially introduced for image strips. This binding technique represents a new approach to document presentation.

What makes Image binding a unique approach is that it offers a strong impression with every document you bind. Image strips come with a front panel large enough for adding graphics, logos, and images. They allow you to design your own strips for your business needs. It is necessary to understand though how to correctly use image strips with the Fastback 9 model.

  1. Fastback 9 comes with an image mode, so set the machine to it. Once it is set, you can see on the display "Ready to Bind - - Image."
  2. Choose the image strip as per your document thickness. For example, narrow image strips can bind up to 125 sheets of paper.
  3. After selecting the right strip, fold it to 90° and make sure that the adhesive side faces inward.
  4. Place the strips to the binding recess. The longer side of the bend should be resting against the wall while sliding the image strip to the right.
  5. To keep the document cover and pages straight, tamp them on the front flat surface. After aligning the pages, place the document on top of the strip, and make sure that you slide the papers to the right to align them with the strip’s edge.
  6. Ensure that all pages are even from all sides by tapping the document on the top and at the left. Now, push the pages in the backward direction to ensure proper binding. Again, check for the alignment of the document with strips.
  7. It’s time to begin the binding process by clicking the BIND button on the Fastback 9 machine. If you need to stop the binding process at the start, then press the OPTN button to abort the binding process entirely. It will end the binding process and release your documents. However, if you want to resume the binding process, then use a new image strip.
  8. If you completely bind the documents, then a message will appear on your screen displaying “REMOVE BOOK” as soon as the binding process is complete. Pick your documents and place it against the rear book support fence.
  9. Keep the binding document to one side for some time and let it cool. This cooling time allows the glue to strengthen the binding.

Image binding with Fastback 9 is as simple as other binding techniques. Here we briefed the binding process of Powis Parker’s latest Fastback Image strips with Fastback 9 machine. You can use this binding method to maximize your documents bound strength and give them a professional and enticing look. For image binding, you can also use a designed strip or create your own custom strip that represents your business image.
